Behind the Scenes on Star Wars Episode 1:
Nick Dudman
Mr. Wizard, I am ready to come home now! Nick Dudman is the wizard of the Phantom Menace and he is ready to come home for a while. He should be, he has been jet setting around the world going from one film to another. That’s the downside to being one of the most sought after make-up artists in England. But with movies like, The 5th Element, The Mummy, and now Star Wars, he won’t be home for long. MA gets a behind-the-scenes look at the aliens Dudman created for Star Wars in this candid interview.
Paul Engelen
MA talks with make-up artist Paul Engelen about his experiences working as the chief make-up artist on Star Wars. Engelen created and applied sinister Darth Maul’s and kabuki-like Queen Amidala’s make-ups, among others, and worked closely with Nick Dudman to help create the look of the Star Wars creatures.
